Lobbyist to succeed longtime CEO Ed Hamberger as head of the $60 million-revenue freight railroad group at start of 2019 Jefferies The Association of American Railroads has tapped its top lobbyist to succeed CEO Ed Hamberger, who is retiring later this year after a two-decade career at the organization. Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Ian Jefferies has been named CEO of the $60 million-revenue AAR. He will transition to his new role on Jan. 1. Jefferies joined AAR in 2013.
